Our client, a growing engineering business just outside of Plymouth, is looking for a Quality Manager to take full ownership of quality across a busy Service Centre. With significant expansion in aerospace and defence, this role is key to maintaining standards, ensuring compliance, and supporting long-term customer relationships.

Why this role as a Quality Manager matters
As Quality Manager, you’ll be the site’s subject matter expert and trusted authority on quality. You’ll ensure the business remains compliant, audit-ready, and operating to the highest standards, while having the autonomy to challenge processes, drive improvements, and support continued growth.
Key responsibilities as a Quality Manager
- Take ownership of all quality activities across the site
- Lead quality processes in line with company policies and industry standards
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS9100/AS9120
- Lead internal and external audits, including customer audits
- Investigate and resolve quality issues using structured problem-solving methods
- Maintain full batch traceability, QA documentation, and material certification
- Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement
- Carry out shop floor and warehouse checks as required
- Work closely with senior leadership and group compliance
What we’re looking for from a Quality Manager
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager or Senior Quality Engineer
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS9100/AS9120
- Background in engineering, manufacturing, or regulated environments
- Experience with root cause analysis, process mapping, material certification, and audits
- Hands-on, proactive, and able to challenge and improve processes
- Preferred: Aerospace or safety-critical materials experience
- Relevant qualification in Quality Management or similar
