On behalf of a leading subcontract machining business based in Bristol, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with strong exposure to the South West aerospace sector. This company is a trusted supplier of precision-engineered components to major aerospace clients, known for their quality, reliability, and technical capability. With a strong foundation and excellent reputation in the industry, they are now looking to expand their customer base across the region.
The Opportunity:
This is a field-based role where the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and representing the business at relevant industry events and networking functions. Time in the office will be limited to just a couple of days a week — the priority is to be out in the market, making things happen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with aerospace OEMs and Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers in the South West
- Drive new business growth through strategic networking and direct engagement
- Attend and represent the company at industry exhibitions, trade events, and customer meetings
- Collaborate with internal teams to support proposals and technical discussions
Candidate Profile:
- Proven background in business development within the aerospace sector
- Strong understanding of the Bristol and South West aerospace market
- Well-connected within the local industry, with a solid contact base
- Confident, proactive, and comfortable working autonomously
- Background in precision machining or subcontract manufacturing is highly desirable
The Package:
- £50,000 – £55,000 base salary
