The
Estimator
role This is a rare, full-spectrum technical estimating role. You won't just be putting together quotes
you'll own the whole journey from enquiry through to order and delivery: Reviewing customer enquiries and technical specifications, working out material, process and testing requirements
Estimating and costing jobs, sourcing material from suppliers where needed
Preparing and issuing quotations, negotiating where required and processing orders through to delivery
Building close working relationships with the production team to make sure what's quoted can be made, on time and to spec
Acting as a key point of contact for customers
this is customer service and technical support as much as it is estimating
About you Come from a manufacturing or engineering background
ideally from a smaller, subcontract or precision engineering environment where you've had to wear more than one hat (estimating, technical, customer-facing)
Comfortable interpreting technical drawings, specifications and customer requirements
Methodical and precise: small errors here can have real consequences once something reaches the shop floor
Confident communicating with both customers and internal production teams
Knowledge of tube manufacturing or non-ferrous metals (brass, copper, copper-nickel, aluminium) is a bonus, not a requirement
Happy to be based on-site, with occasional customer visits (mileage paid)
