We’re looking to employ a team of two motivated enthusiastic multi-trade operatives to join our small but fast-paced team in Scotland.
About the Role:
The multi-trade site operatives will be responsible for performing a range of skilled construction tasks across various trades, including roofing, carpentry, and general maintenance. The role requires versatile individuals with a broad skills set who can adapt to different tasks and projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
You will be based from home, but cover North/South Ayrshire, Edinburgh and Glasgow. This role does require that you need to be on call over the weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare construction sites, including cleaning debris and setting up materials.
- Assist in demolition tasks when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness on site.
- Conduct routine and preventative maintenance tasks on construction sites and equipment.
- Address minor repairs and maintenance issues promptly.
- Perform roofing tasks, including repairs and installations, including, but not limited to:
- Pitched roofs: slate, tiles & metals
- Flat roofs: felts, single ply membrane, liquid coatings
Essential Experience/Qualifications:
- Work at heights.
- Rooftop Safety.
- Manual Handling.
- UKATA Asbestos Awareness.
- CSCS Card.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in roofing work.
- Full UK Drivers Licence.
- Enhanced DBS Check.
- Relevant trade qualifications.

Essential Skills:
- Proven experience in multiple construction trades, with roofing skills as a core requirement.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and health and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.

- Adaptable and flexible to meet the demands of different projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Be able to coordinate, communicate effectively to minimise disruption to school operations with school staff.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labour.
- Committed to delivering high-quality work and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Working conditions:
Work is primarily performed on live Education buildings, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions. The role may require lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
