About Us
At Evergreen Water Solutions, we are dedicated to delivering clean water and sustainable wastewater treatment solutions. We design, install, and maintain cutting-edge technologies that keep the water industry moving forward. We are currently looking for a skilled, multi-disciplinary Service Engineer to join our team, with a core focus on servicing, commissioning, and optimizing our advanced Cloth Pile Filter systems. If you have a blend of mechanical grit, electrical smarts, and a knack for process optimization, we want to hear from you.
The Role
As a Service Engineer, you won’t just be turning spanners; you will be the face of Evergreen on-site. You will oversee the entire lifecycle of our cloth pile filtration systems—ensuring peak mechanical performance, troubleshooting complex electrical control panels, and fine-tuning the biological/chemical process variables.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical Maintenance: Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on cloth pile filters, including replacing filter cloths, overhauling drive mechanisms, pumps, valves, and backwash systems.
- Electrical Fault-Finding: Diagnose and repair electrical faults on-site. Work comfortably with control panels, low-voltage systems, instrumentation (flow meters, pressure sensors, turbidity sensors), and basic PLC interrogation.
- Process Optimization: Analyse filter performance (solids loading, backwash frequency, effluent quality) and adjust parameters to ensure compliance with strict environmental standards.
- Commissioning & Handover: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new filtration assets, providing training to client operators.
- Reporting: Complete digital service reports detailing work carried out, parts used, and proactive recommendations for the client.
What We Are Looking For
- The Triple Threat: A strong multi-skilled background covering Electrical, Mechanical, and Process disciplines.
- Experience: Proven experience working within the water/wastewater industry or heavy industrial process environments. Direct experience with cloth pile or disc filters is a massive advantage.
- Qualifications:
- Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or HNC/D in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
- Electrical qualification (e.g., 18th Edition) is highly desirable.
- Confined Space training and CSCS/EUSR card (preferred, but training can be provided).
- Mindset: A natural problem-solver who can work autonomously, manage their own time on the road, and maintain a safety-first attitude.
- Mobility: A full UK driving license is essential, alongside a willingness to travel and occasionally stay away overnight.
What We Offer
- Competitive Salary: (Dependant on experience)
- Tools for the Job: Fully equipped company service van, high-quality tools, uniform, and laptop.
- Growth: Ongoing, specialized training on proprietary water treatment technologies.
- Benefits: Pension scheme, generous holiday allowance.
