Evergreen is on a mission to reshape how people engage with financial services. As the parent company behind Moneyboat, one of the UK's trusted short-term unsecured lenders, we're entering an exciting phase of growth, developing new fintech brands and digital products that support financial well-being and smarter money choices. We're looking for an experienced and highly organised Senior Project Manager to bring structure, pace and rigour to how Evergreen delivers change across the entire business.

The Role

Reporting to the COO, you will establish and run Evergreen's project management function as a true business-wide capability. You will not own the projects, the relevant business leads do, but you will be responsible for making sure every project is properly planned, resourced, tracked and delivered. Where things are at risk, you'll surface it early. Where things are stalling, you'll unblock them. As Evergreen grows and the volume and complexity of concurrent change increases, this role becomes increasingly critical. You'll bring the frameworks, the discipline and the visibility that allow a fast-moving business to execute without losing control. Your main focus will be ensuring the right people have the right information at the right time - that plans are followed, commitments are kept, and execution lands when it should. You'll be the connective tissue that eliminates the "we didn't know about that" moment before it happens.

Key responsibilities

  • Project manage concurrent initiatives across the business including regulatory and compliance programmes, operational process change, new brand and product launches, and technology and product development work.
  • Build and maintain detailed project plans for each workstream, tracking progress, dependencies, risks and issues in a way that's useful and accessible to all stakeholders.
  • Ensure project owners and sponsors are kept informed and are clear on what's expected of them and when.
  • Work closely with the Engineering and Product teams on technical delivery, translating between technical and non-technical stakeholders where needed.
  • Identify and escalate risks and blockers early to the COO and relevant ExCo members before they become delivery failures.
  • Manage and align project scopes and deliverables, pushing back where scope creep or unrealistic timelines threaten delivery quality.

Change Management

  • Work with stakeholders across the business to ensure organisational changes are planned, communicated and adopted effectively.
  • Act as the bridge between the COO and wider business on change initiatives ensuring updates are timely, clear and connected to the bigger picture.
  • Create and deliver the training, resources and communications that help teams understand and adapt to change.
  • Monitor the impact of changes post-implementation and feed learnings back into future planning.

PM Function & Standards

  • Establish and maintain consistent project management standards, templates and governance processes across the business.
  • Build and own a single portfolio view of all active projects, giving the COO and ExCo real-time visibility of progress, risk and resource.
  • Select and implement the right tooling to support project tracking, reporting and collaboration across a remote-first business.
  • Actively embed AI and automation into PM workflows to improve efficiency and reporting quality.
  • Continuously improve how the PM operates, adapting processes to match the pace and culture of a growing fintech.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related queries across the business.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels, from ExCo to operational teams, and with external partners and suppliers where relevant.
  • Facilitate clear, structured communication between workstreams so that dependencies are understood and managed.

Your skills & experience

Essential

  • Proven experience running a PMO or senior project management function, in a regulated industry or financial services environment.
  • Track record of project managing a diverse portfolio of concurrent initiatives, tech, operational, regulatory and business change.
  • Strong ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, actionable language for a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience working directly with and reporting to senior leadership or executive teams.
  • Excellent risk management instincts, able to identify what's going wrong before it becomes critical and act decisively.
  • Confident influencer and communicator, able to hold project owners to account without direct line authority.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with project management methodologies, Agile, Waterfall or hybrid - and the judgement to apply the right approach to the right project.

Desired

  • Experience in fintech, consumer lending or a similarly fast-paced, regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with FCA regulatory change programmes and how compliance projects are typically scoped and delivered.
  • Experience establishing a PMO function from scratch or significantly improving an existing one.
  • Comfortable working with distributed, remote-first teams across different time zones.
  • Formal project management certification (Prince2, PMP, APM or equivalent).
