Our manufacturing client based in the Deeside area is currently looking to recruit an experienced and diligent Quality Manager. As the Quality Manager, you will oversee the QA team and enhance the quality assurance processes. This role is crucial in ensuring that products meet the highest standards of food quality and safety, thereby contributing to customer satisfaction and compliance with regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Technical Manager, this role is ideal for an experienced quality professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and has a proven track record of leading and developing quality teams in an FMCG setting who wants to support production in embedding a culture of improvement, operational efficiency and excellence in food safety.
Performance Objectives
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures in alignment with industry standards, including HACCP.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement, ensuring audit readiness at all times.
- Be the technical point of contact for customers, attending meetings, responding to technical queries and host/lead audits.
- Analyse data related to product quality and performance, providing actionable insights to enhance processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions effectively.
- Train and mentor staff on quality assurance practices and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Generate Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) plans and ensure timely resolution of non-conformances.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Support the technical team with NPD and process validation, ensuring food safety and quality are built into new product launches.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in a quality management role within a manufacturing or food production environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and quality assurance methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive change within an organisation.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of allergen management and environmental monitoring.
- Well experienced in managing customer and 3rd party audits.
- Familiar with retailer standards.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work cross-functionally and build effective relationships.
