Working in Minor Injury Unit’s across Somerset, see, treat & discharge minor injuries without always needing to refer patients to a doctor. Practitioners are responsible for a variety of tasks, including: * Assessing patients, including pain assessment and management * Diagnosing problems such as sprains, strains, cuts, and bites * Giving medication, either orally or via injection * Treating minor injuries, including burns and wounds * Reading and assessing X-rays * Administering some medications, including antibiotics * Providing wound closures, plastering, and dressings Practitioners are expected to work autonomously, but they also need to be able to work well within a team. They should have excellent written and verbal skills, and be able to organize and prioritize their own workload and the workload of others. Must have: * Minor Injury experience * Indepdantly prescribe * IRMER certificate Shift patterns available are: Early – 08:00-16:00 Middle – 10:00-18:00 Late – 13:00-21:00 Longday – 08:00-21:00 Very competative hourly rates avaialble and block bookings also.
