A top-tier, sector-specialist private equity firm is seeking a Junior Vice President to join its London investment team. The platform is known for growth-oriented buyouts and growth equity investing, with a long-standing focus across Technology, Media & Communications (TMT) and education / technology-enabled services in Europe and North America. This is a rare opportunity to step into a lean, high-performing team where you will take meaningful responsibility across the full deal cycle—from origination and execution through portfolio work—alongside senior investors and management teams.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a commercially sharp, execution-strong investor who can drive workstreams independently and operate confidently in a high-standards environment. You will support and lead key elements of transactions and portfolio initiatives, and contribute to the team’s market coverage within the firm’s core sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support origination by screening opportunities, mapping subsectors, and building high-quality investment theses
- Lead core execution workstreams: financial modeling (LBO / operating models), valuation, diligence coordination, and IC materials
- Evaluate business models, unit economics, competitive positioning, and growth levers within TMT / education / tech-enabled services
- Manage third-party advisors (commercial, financial, legal), timelines, and diligence outputs across parallel workstreams
- Work closely with portfolio company management teams on performance tracking, strategic initiatives, and board materials
- Prepare investment memos, KPI dashboards, and concise updates for senior stakeholders
- Mentor analysts/associates and raise the bar on quality, clarity, and pace of execution
What We’re Looking For
- Typically 5–8 years of experience (flexible), likely from: Top-tier private equity (Associate / Senior Associate), or M&A / Leveraged Finance at a leading investment bank plus meaningful buyside exposure
- Strong technical foundation: LBO modeling, valuation, accounting, diligence structuring
- Clear evidence of ownership: ability to run workstreams with limited oversight
- Strong judgement and communication—able to synthesize complexity into crisp, decision-useful outputs
- Genuine interest in sector-led investing (TMT / education / tech-enabled services)
- High standards, humility, and pace—comfortable in a demanding, low-ego culture
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA / CFA advantageous but not essential
Why Join
- Join a globally respected, sector-driven PE platform with a strong London presence
- High-quality deal flow and exposure to complex buyouts, growth transactions, and value creation
- Meaningful responsibility and visibility within a lean, senior team
- Competitive compensation with performance-linked upside and clear progression runway
