We are working with a leading European private credit platform that is expanding its Direct Lending team in London. This is a buy-side Associate Director role, offering significant responsibility across origination, execution, and portfolio management, as well as meaningful interaction with senior stakeholders and management teams.
The team provides flexible financing solutions to mid-market companies across Europe, investing across senior secured, unitranche, mezzanine, and special situations.
Key Responsibilities- Playing a leading role in origination, including idea generation, screening, and relationship-driven deal flow
- Leading credit analysis and financial modelling, including downside and stress-case analysis
- Managing and coordinating due diligence processes with internal teams and external advisors
- Preparing and presenting materials for Investment Committee discussions
- Taking ownership of deal execution, documentation review, and structuring alongside senior team members
- Active involvement in portfolio management, monitoring, amendments, and value-creation initiatives
- Acting as a mentor to junior team members and contributing to team development
We are targeting mid-senior profiles, with one of the following backgrounds:
- Leveraged Finance bankers with ~6+ years of total experience, ideally with strong exposure to sponsor-backed transactions
- Private Credit / Direct Lending professionals with buy-side experience across execution and portfolio management
- Experience in special situations, restructuring, or complex capital structures is a plus.
- Fluent or native German (professional working proficiency is essential)
- Strong expertise in credit analysis, structuring, and financial modelling
- Demonstrated experience across the full investment lifecycle
- Commercial mindset with the ability to assess risk-reward trade-offs independently
- Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with senior internal and external stakeholders
- High level of ownership, judgment, and attention to detail
