About the Role:

Everest is seeking a seasoned Senior Risk Manager to take on a multifaceted role that combines direct oversight of risk activities within the Everest Reinsurance (Bermuda) Ltd UK Branch with responsibilities in developing global risk management frameworks as part of the London-based Global Risk Hub.

This role reports to the Head of the Global Risk Hub, with a dotted line to the Chief Risk Officer of Everest Reinsurance Company (Ireland) dac and requires close collaboration with senior leadership across the ERB UK Branch and Group ERM. The successful candidate will also assume regulatory duties as the Risk Key Function Holder for the ERB UK Branch, making this a critical position for those with a strong background in enterprise risk and a drive to shape risk frameworks on an international scale.

Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

The Senior Risk Manager will be responsible for all elements of the ERB UK Branch risk management framework including but not limited to the following:

  • Review and management of the ERB UK Branch risk environment, including but not limited to:
  • Risk management framework, including policies and processes,
  • Risk register and assessment of risks including identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of key risks,
  • Risk appetite and tolerance monitoring,
  • Preparation of the ORSA working with Group ERM colleagues for inputs.
  • Controls monitoring and assurance.
  • Perform risk partnering and oversight alongside the ERB UK Branch Senior Management.
  • Membership and quarterly attendance of the ERB UK Executive Committees and other Committees as relevant including presentation of reporting.
  • Liaison with Group ERM.
  • Liaison with Regulators (PRA).

As part of the Global Risk Hub, the role holder will also lead and assist in the development and implementation of enterprise risk management frameworks globally including risk appetite and policy development, climate risk frameworks, and other frameworks and processes as required.

Qualifications:

  • Risk management qualification a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies :

  • Proven risk management experience within the insurance sector at a senior level.
  • Experience of working with Regulators in a regulatory role.
  • Proven experience of creating and implementing risk frameworks.
  • Ability to produce reporting and present at an Executive level.
  • Comfortable interacting with senior individuals including the UK Regulator.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and numerical skills.
