We are underwriters of risk, growth, progress and opportunity. We are a global team focused on disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation for all stakeholders, who care deeply about our impact on communities and the wider world.
This placement offered for a 13-month period is within the International Internal Audit team based in London. Today’s organisations face many strategic, financial and operational risks that can stop them from achieving their goals. We take a deep, objective look at various operational and finance functions to evaluate the effectiveness of controls to manage potential risks. A career in internal audit gives you front‑row seats to how organisations operate. Internal Auditors regularly interact with various departments and stakeholders throughout the year. Each audit cycle regularly entails gathering an understanding of the business process, interviewing process owners, evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of controls. Observations and opportunities for improvement are presented to key stakeholders verbally and in the form of written reports.
A successful applicant will therefore get the opportunity to:
- Learn about the insurance industry and how insurance works
- Gain exposure to various auditing techniques and test strategies
- Gain exposure to different departments within an insurance organisation
- Work with colleagues from different geographical locations, time zones and cultures
- Practice presentation skills and gain exposure to formal report writing
- Develop organisational and self‑management skills
- Develop problem solving, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Communicate with individuals across different areas of the business, through email correspondence and in-person meetings
- Develop IT skills across different insurance software, as well as Microsoft Office
Everest is committed to recruiting and retaining the most talented individuals in the industry and offers a competitive salary for this placement year role. The role offered is 35 hours a week, with 2 days remote and 3 days a week in our office at 40 Lime Street, London, EC3M 7AW.
We are seeking an enthusiastic self‑starter who is quick to learn and always up for a challenge. The ideal candidate is currently in their second or third year of an Accounting or Finance degree.
