About the Role
The Business Solution Analyst will work closely with the Business Architecture Solution Design team, Process Owners, and Business Stakeholders (Underwriting, Product, Claims, and Operations) to fully understand insurance business processes and identify system needs. This role will also collaborate with Everest technology teams to understand system capabilities, define scope, support IT sizing efforts, and write business system requirements to meet delivery timelines. The Analyst will follow Business Architecture processes and artifact standards.
Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment on business needs and system capabilities.
- Lead and facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional and non-functional specifications.
- Develop and maintain business requirement documents, process flows, and use cases.
- Manage and prioritize the product backlog in collaboration with Product Owners.
- Support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Create and manage Jira stories and tasks, ensuring traceability to business objectives.
- Conduct gap analysis and impact assessments for proposed changes.
- Collaborate with QA teams to define test plans and support UAT activities.
- Analyze and document system integrations within the insurance ecosystem.
- Monitor and evaluate implemented solutions to ensure they meet business needs.
- Provide post-implementation support and continuous improvement recommendations.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to best practices in business analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst in technology‑driven environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC processes.
- Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and other Agile project management tools.
- Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Experience in the insurance industry (Property & Casualty preferred) is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with business process modeling tools and techniques.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary range for this position is $120,000- $159,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location. All offers include access to a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
