In this role, you will act as the core techno-functional subject matter expert, bridging the gap between operational needs and cloud-native WMS capabilities.
You will design microservices-based configurations, extensions (Pro Active), API-first integrations, and cross-platform automation (MHE/Robotics, ERP, TMS) to power complex fulfillment and distribution environments.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Solution Architecture & System Design
- Lead the end-to-end solution architecture and technical design for Manhattan Active Warehouse Management (MAWM).
- Translate complex operational and business rules into scalable MAWM configurations, extension designs, and functional specs.
- Architect end-to-end flows spanning OMS, WMS, ERP (e. g., SAP, Oracle), TMS, and MHE/WCS/WES automation.
- Leverage Manhattan Active's microservices architecture and unified operational data model to minimize custom code while maximizing operational throughput.
- 2. Technical Execution & Extensions
- Oversee and hands-on design extensions and extension packs using Pro Active and MAWM configuration tools.
- Lead API-first integration design utilizing MAWM RESTful APIs, JSON/XML payload structures, and event-driven architecture.
- Design, build, and optimize warehouse workflows including receiving, putaway, wave/waveless picking, packing, shipping, slotting, inventory control, and labor management.
- Oversee reporting and label generation architectures (e. g., SCI / Cognos, Jasper Reports, JMagic/Bar Tender).
- 3. Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Serve as the primary technical authority and liaison between business operations, supply chain leaders, enterprise IT, and Manhattan Associates consultants.
- Guide and mentor junior consultants, developers, and system analysts on MAWM best practices, design standards, and testing strategies.
- Conduct blueprinting sessions, design reviews, and gap analysis workshops with cross-functional teams.
- 4. Testing, Go-Live, & Governance
- Establish configuration standards, environment management protocols, and release strategies for quarterly MAWM versionless updates.
- Oversee integration testing (UAT/SIT), system performance tuning, root-cause analysis, and defect resolution.
- Lead post-implementation hypercare, operational optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
- Overall Experience: 8+ years in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) implementation and architectural design.
- Manhattan Active WMS Experience: 3+ years of direct, hands-on architectural and design experience specifically with Manhattan Active Warehouse Management (MAWM).
• Core Technical Competencies
- Deep expertise in MAWM Pro Active framework and extension management.
- Proficiency in RESTful APIs, JSON/XML, Postman scripting, and microservices architecture.
- Strong background in ERP integration (SAP, Oracle Cloud, Net Suite) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE/WCS) interfaces.
- Proficiency in SQL, data validation, and database architecture.
- Functional Expertise: In-depth knowledge of distribution operations (e-Commerce direct-to-consumer, B2B, cross-docking, omni-channel fulfillment).
- Preferred Qualifications
- Manhattan Associates MA Active Certification.
- Prior experience transitioning legacy WMo S (i Series or Open Systems) to cloud-native Manhattan Active WMS.
- Hands-on knowledge of Manhattan Active Transportation Management (MATM) or Order Management (MAOM) integrations.
