Are you an experienced ST3+ Doctor in General Medicine looking for a rewarding and well‑remunerated locum assignment in Northern Ireland? This is an outstanding opportunity to join a busy and supportive clinical team at a well-established HSC hospital site for a substantial 15‑week engagement.
Everest Recruitment and Services are working in partnership with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust to recruit a Locum ST3+ Doctor in General Medicine for an urgent vacancy at Causeway Hospital, Coleraine, Northern Ireland. This is a full‑time assignment‑based position commencing 27 April 2026 and running through to 4 August 2026, working Monday to Sunday, 09:00 to 17:00, with on‑call commitments as per rota requirements.
PAY AND ENGAGEMENT
- Standard rate: £40.00 per hour
- On‑call rate: £27.60 per hour
- On‑call called in: £40.00 per hour
- Bank holiday rate: £60.00 per hour
- Engaged inside IR35
- Payment via PAYE
THE ROLE
Working as a Locum ST3+ Doctor within the General Medicine department at Causeway Hospital, you will form a key part of a busy medical team delivering high‑quality inpatient care across a demanding and varied caseload. You will be expected to work with a significant degree of clinical autonomy, making sound and timely decisions across the full range of general medical presentations, supervising junior colleagues, contributing to ward rounds and handovers, and upholding the highest standards of patient safety and clinical governance throughout your engagement.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Full GMC registration — active and in good standing at time of appointment
- MB BCh or equivalent primary medical qualification
- ST3 level or above in General Medicine or equivalent experience
- Demonstrable experience managing acute general medical patients with appropriate autonomy
- Previous NHS or HSC experience — essential
- MRCP Part 1 or above — desirable
- Valid medical indemnity insurance (MDU, MPS or MDDUS)
- Two professional references covering recent clinical practice
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
- Full occupational health clearance including Hepatitis B, HIV and TB
- Enhanced AccessNI certificate (we can assist with the application process)
