As a Senior Syndicate Accountant, you will ensure accurate and timely syndicate group and regulatory reporting, supporting related legal entities. You will operate in a hybrid London-based role, applying Lloyd’s knowledge, US GAAP and UK GAAP reporting, and strong controls. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance processes, contribute to audits, and support ad-hoc projects that drive financial accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Assist general ledger close for the Syndicate and related entities under US GAAP and UK GAAP
- Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain controls over general ledger balances and perform reconciliations
- Collaborate with IT, Underwriting, Claims, Credit Control, and Reinsurance to support finance processes
- Support the XLPro interface for ceded results into the general ledger and post results for Group reinsurers
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects and evolving priorities
- Partner with FP A, Tax, Actuarial, Treasury, and Group Head Office for analysis and reporting
- Participate in audits and provide documentation and explanations
- Support Finance and Syndicate Reporting teams to maintain a collaborative environment
Key requirements
- Academic foundation in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Qualified in ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent or actively progressing towards
- Deep knowledge of Lloyd’s market, including Xchanging and LCA processes
- Experience partnering with underwriting and claims teams
- Accuracy and attention to detail; proficient in Microsoft Office; strong stakeholder engagement
- Self-motivated; able to work independently and collaboratively
- Desirable: Oracle ERP exposure, CMR, MDC, Lloyd’s/FCA/PRA reporting requirements
