The role focuses on rigorous deal-level pricing, portfolio impact assessment and ongoing performance monitoring, ensuring underwriting decisions are supported by robust analytics and aligned with overall portfolio profitability. Contribute and lead on certain aspects of the pricing transformation program to ensure raters, data enrichment, MI and insights are best in class.Key responsibilitiesActuarial pricing & deal evaluationProvide actuarial pricing analysis for new and renewal portfolio and structured deals, including delegated and follow-line business.Risk selection, Contract structure, Coverage terms, Pricing adequacy Portfolio monitoring & performance analysisDevelop and maintain monitoring and tracking processes to assess:Segment-level and portfolio-level profitabilityEmerging trends and experience divergenceRate adequacy and market movementsSupport periodic portfolio reviews, producing objective, data-driven conclusions and recommendations for underwriting or strategic action.Evaluate the impact of market conditions, rate change and underwriting behaviour on portfolio performance.Actuarial control cycle & business planningMaintain strong feedback loops between Pricing, Reserving, Capital modelling, Business planningInput into business planning processes, including:Loss ratio selections, Portfolio assumptionsAssessment of reinsurance structures and recoverability, where appropriateSupport exposure management by analysing accumulation, diversification and systemic risk drivers.Business partnering & communicationWork closely with EPS underwriters to:Understand deal intent and risk driversTranslate actuarial outputs into practical underwriting insightCommunicate complex technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.Collaborate with data, systems and analytics teams to enhance Pricing tools , Data quality and Analytical output and automationParticipate in broker and client meetingsIdentify opportunities to influence pricing strategy by utilizing portfolio datasets into rater benchmarking and segmentation analysisSkills & experienceRequiredFellow of a recognised actuarial body (or equivalent experience with strong exam progression).Proven experience delivering hands-on actuarial pricing analysis for complex or non-standard risks.Ability to build strong working relationships with peers, management and different business functions.Proficient in Excel, VBA, SQL (with either R or Python skills desirable) and an ability to create pricing tools to support day to day underwriting workflow.Ability to work under own initiative and show flexibility to meet business needs.Portfolio or follow-line capacity arrangementsStructured or multi-line insurance solutionsDelegated authority / MGA businessFamiliarity with exposure management and aggregation risk concepts.Front-line actuarial role working closely with underwriters.Focused on technical excellence, analytical depth and insightOperates across deal-level pricing and portfolio-level performance assessment.At Everest we are dedicated to building an inclusive and authentic workplace.
