We are underwriters of risk, growth, progress and opportunity. We are a global team focused on disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation for all stakeholders, who care deeply about our impact on communities and the wider world.

About the Role: This is an excellent opportunity for you to step into a leadership role within a growing Compliance Function as a Compliance Manager, where you will provide expert oversight and strategic direction on UK regulatory requirements. In this role, you will hold responsibility for compliance oversight across two key entities: the newly authorised Everest Managing Agency Ltd (Lloyd’s platform) and the Everest Insurance (Ireland) DAC UK Third Country Branch (Company platform). You will lead and manage a team of two Compliance Specialists. As a key partner to the wider Everest Compliance Function and senior business leaders, you will own and manage critical components of the UK compliance framework. You will leverage your in-depth, expert knowledge of the UK regulatory regime and London Market environment (including FCA, PRA and Lloyd’s), provide authoritative advice and guidance to the business, and drive a strong culture of compliance through effective challenge and partnership. This position will be based in our London office with a hybrid schedule that has the option of working two days remotely each week.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Support and Lead Compliance Framework & Strategy: You will support the SMF16 role holders in developing, implementing, and maintaining the compliance strategy and framework, ensuring it remains robust, effective, and aligned with UK regulatory expectations and overall business strategy.
  • Oversee Regulatory Reporting: You will assist in the regulatory reporting function, including the strategic management of the Company and Lloyd’s reporting timetable, and coordinate inputs for key regulatory engagements such as the PRA Periodic Summary Meeting (PSM). You will ensure the timely and accurate submission of all PRA and FCA returns via platforms such as BEEDS, FCA RegData and Connect, including the Eligible Complainant Return, RMAR, and Conduct Rules Breach Return. You will review all submissions prepared by the team.
  • Provide Strategic Advice & Challenge: You will act as a senior compliance advisor to the business, leading second-line challenge and providing expert guidance on key topics such as Lloyd’s Oversight Principles, Outsourcing (including Delegated Authority arrangements), Operational Resilience, Consumer Duty & Product Governance, the Senior Managers & Certification Regime, and Conduct & Culture.
  • Drive Regulatory Change Management: You will collaborate with the wider team on regulatory horizon scanning and provide strategic advice to senior leadership on the impact of upcoming changes. You will interpret new regulations and direct the implementation of any required updates to policies and procedures across impacted business areas.
  • Manage the Annual Compliance Monitoring Plan: You will support the SMF16 role holders in developing and managing the Annual Compliance Monitoring Plan for both the Lloyd’s and Company platforms. You will ensure all monitoring activities are completed and highlight any findings, along with recommended remedial actions.
  • Foster a Compliance Culture: You will act as a key strategic partner to business areas and senior stakeholders to embed and promote a strong risk and compliance culture across the organisation.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: You will provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Compliance Specialists, supporting their professional development and ensuring the effective delivery of the compliance plan.

Qualifications: You will bring expert-level knowledge of the regulatory framework for UK insurance business, including the FCA, PRA and Lloyd’s requirements. You will have proven experience operating in a senior second-line function within a Company Market insurer and/or a Lloyd’s Managing Agent. You will also bring substantial experience in compliance, including time spent in senior or leadership roles.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: You are highly collaborative, with a proven ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally. You demonstrate strong leadership qualities, with the ability to organise, delegate, and prioritise workloads for your team to meet challenging deadlines. You have exceptional communication and influencing skills, with a proven ability to engage with and advise senior executives, and to build effective working relationships across the business. You bring a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to provide pragmatic, commercially focused compliance solutions. Professional qualifications (such as ACII or the ICA Diploma in Governance, Risk and Compliance) are highly desirable.
