Factory Manager

Overview Everest People Solutions is recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Factory Manager for the PM shift at Salisbury Poultry. This role focuses on bringing the team together to drive results and meet performance targets. The facility is currently processing 1.2 million birds per week, with plans to increase to 2 million birds per week within the next 12-18 months. The ideal candidate will have a background in the poultry or meat industry, with essential experience in UK retail operations. Key Responsibilities : Team Leadership : Lead and manage the team, focusing on yield, quality, waste reduction, and performance management. Operational Oversight : Supervise direct reports, including the QA Manager, two Production Managers, the Engineering Supervisor, and the Hygiene Manager. Process Integration : Support the integration of the new Wet and Dry Sides in factory operations. Target Achievement : Collaborate with staff to meet operational targets and improve overall performance. Compliance Management : Ensure strict adherence to food safety and quality standards. Effective Communication : Engage in effective team leadership and communication to align with company goals. Reporting Structure : Reports to : Operations Manager Direct Reports : QA Manager 2 x Production Managers Engineering Supervisor Hygiene Manager Operational Scope : Manage an operational team of 300 staff. Focus on maintaining quality standards without direct P&L responsibilities. Drive improvements in efficiency and production processes. Essential Requirements : Strong background in the poultry or meat industry. Proven experience in UK retail operations. Familiarity with the DSI Waterjet Portioning System is desirable but not mandatory. Desirable Skills : Leadership skills in a high-volume production environment. Experience with yield optimization and waste reduction. Knowledge of food safety standards and quality control. Ability to manage diverse teams effectively and drive performance.
