About Everest: Everest is a global leader in risk management, rooted in a rich, 50+ year heritage of enabling businesses to survive and thrive, and economies to function and flourish. We are underwriters of risk, growth, progress and opportunity. We are a global team focused on disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation for all stakeholders, who care deeply about our impact on communities and the wider world.
Build what’s next: Everest is entering a pivotal stage in the evolution of its global facultative platform and this is a rare opportunity to play a defining role in that journey. We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded leader to join our London Facultative team as Head of Portfolio Solutions. Facultative portfolio solutions is a strategic pillar of our global facultative organization and this is an opportunity to manage and grow our MGA and facultative facilities book within the UK, as well as Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions.
This is not a replacement role, and it is not a “build from scratch.” Rather, it’s a unique opportunity to build upon an already strong foundation in Property Facultative, with strong backing from senior leadership and clear ambition to establish a market-leading Property & Casualty portfolio solutions capability alongside an already successful individual risk P&C facultative business.
The Opportunity: The Facultative team in London is a core part of Everest’s global growth strategy. Under established leadership, the business has built a strong foundation in both the individual risk and facultative program space. The next phase is to expand our program business into a more structured, scalable model, with a dedicated focus on:
- MGA management & Facultative Facilities
- Portfolio solutions / unique, hybrid structures
- Portfolio underwriting
- Scalable, repeatable capacity deployment
This role will lead that evolution combining portfolio thinking, underwriting leadership, and market engagement to drive the next chapter of growth. You will be a key part of our longer-term leadership planning, offering the opportunity to grow alongside the business and play a significant role in its future direction. A high visibility role with direct engagement with senior leadership and global stakeholders.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead and shape the portfolio solutions strategy, including oversight of performance, growth, and underwriting discipline
- Build and develop a high-performing, inclusive team, creating structure, clarity, and momentum within the function
- Underwrite and manage a UK and EMEA regional portfolio of business within agreed appetite and guidelines
- Partner closely with global leadership to align on strategy, portfolio management, and underwriting approach
- Develop and strengthen relationships with brokers and key market stakeholders across the London and EMEA Market
- Identify, structure, and deliver new portfolio / hybrid opportunities
- Help define and evolve Everest’s underwriting appetite, product offering, and market positioning
- Represent Everest externally, enhancing brand presence and building long-term trading relationships
- Collaborate across underwriting, actuarial, claims, legal and other functions to deliver a One Everest approach
- Ensure strong governance, oversight, and adherence to risk and regulatory frameworks
What we’re looking for: We’re keen to speak with individuals who bring a combination of:
- Experience in individual risk and/or portfolio/treaty reinsurance underwriting, structured or hybrid reinsurance solutions (e.g. facilities, programs, treaty-adjacent environments, or facultative with portfolio exposure)
- A leadership mindset, with the ability to build, influence and develop teams and operating models
- Strong London Market presence and relationships, particularly across the broker community
- A commercial, strategic approach to underwriting and business development
- The ability to operate at pace, navigate complexity, and contribute to building something new
- A background in property underwriting at the insurance or reinsurance level is beneficial given the focus of the portfolio
