About Everest: Everest is a global leader in risk management, rooted in a rich, 50+ year heritage of enabling businesses to survive and thrive, and economies to function and flourish. We are underwriters of risk, growth, progress and opportunity. We are a global team focused on disciplined capital allocation and long-term value creation for all stakeholders, who care deeply about our impact on communities and the wider world.

Role Purpose: The Associate Director, Strategy & Transformation will play a critical role in shaping and delivering the strategic agenda for Everest’s Global Wholesale & Specialty platform. Reporting directly to the Head of Strategy & Transformation, this role will act as a central strategic partner to regional Strategy & Transformation leads, underwriting leadership, and functional stakeholders across the business. The role combines top-tier consulting skillsets (problem structuring, executive storytelling, analytical insight) with hands-on delivery, owning priority initiatives from concept through execution. This is a highly visible role with regular exposure to global executive leadership, requiring strong judgement, intellectual rigour, and the ability to operate credibly across strategy, underwriting, operations, and finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Strategy & Transformation Support: Support the development and execution of the Global Wholesale & Specialty strategy, ensuring alignment across regions and product lines. Partner closely with Regional Strategy & Transformation Heads to translate global strategic priorities into regional execution plans, provide structured challenge, insight, and problem-solving support, and ensure consistency of approach, governance, and reporting.
  • Executive Reporting & Board-Level Materials: Own the development of executive-level reporting, including strategy updates, transformation progress, and performance insights. Board, ExCo, and senior leadership presentations. Translate complex financial, operational, and underwriting data into clear, decision-ready insights. Maintain high standards of narrative clarity, visual quality, and analytical integrity (consultancy-grade output).
  • Priority Initiative Deep Dives: Lead deep-dive analyses into high-priority strategic and operational topics, such as portfolio profitability and underwriting performance, operating model effectiveness, investment prioritisation (technology, operations, people), and regional or product-specific growth or remediation initiatives. Structure problems, assess options, quantify impact, and support leadership decision-making. Where required, move beyond analysis to support delivery, tracking milestones, risks, and outcomes.
  • Strategy Delivery & Execution Support: Work with regional and functional teams to support end-to-end delivery of agreed initiatives. Help establish clear objectives, success metrics, and accountability. Act as a connective tissue between strategy, underwriting, finance, operations, and technology.
  • Thought Leadership & Ways of Working: Bring external perspective and best practice (e.g. from consulting, peers, market benchmarks). Help evolve the Strategy & Transformation function’s toolkits, templates, and analytical approaches, governance and cadence, and ways of working with the business.

Candidate Profile: Top-tier or strong strategy/management consulting and/or strategy, transformation, or commercial roles within insurance, reinsurance, or financial services. Experience working with senior executives and producing board-level materials. Exposure to complex, multi-region organisations preferred. Insurance or specialty lines experience strongly preferred (but not mandatory for exceptional candidates).

Core Skill Set: Strong consulting toolkit: problem structuring and hypothesis-driven thinking, quantitative and financial analysis, executive storytelling and slide writing. Ability to operate across strategy and execution — comfortable getting into detail and driving outcomes. Excellent stakeholder management skills; able to influence without authority. High attention to detail with a strong sense of commercial judgement. Confident, composed, and credible with senior leaders.
