We are in the process of opening a new 5-bed children’s home for young people aged 7–17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). As we prepare for Ofsted registration, we’re looking for an experienced and confident Registered Manager, or a capable Deputy Manager ready to take on a step-up role, to lead the home from the very start. This is a great opportunity to help shape a supportive, high-quality service and to build a dedicated team around you. You’ll receive strong guidance and ongoing support from an experienced Responsible Individual throughout the setup and registration stages.
We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager, ready to take the next step, to lead our new home in Coventry. This is an opportunity to shape a service from the ground up. You will have day-to-day autonomy and the full support of a knowledgeable senior team. As Registered Manager, you will also take on the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and voices of the children are central to all decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015
- Work towards achieving a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people
- Create and maintain a nurturing, consistent environment
- Lead, support, and supervise staff, including supervisions and appraisals
- Maintain Care Plans, Risk Assessments, and accurate records
- Manage budgets and financial responsibilities
- Oversee the presentation and maintenance of the home
- Plan activities, outings, and holidays
- Ensure mandatory training is completed and up to date
- Report regularly to senior management
- Obtain and maintain Ofsted registration
- Maintain registration with the DBS Update Service
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years working in Residential Childcare (required)
- Minimum 1 year in a management role within a Children’s Home (required)
Qualifications:
- Level 3 Diploma in Children’s and Young People Workforce (required)
- Level 5 Leadership & Management in Residential Childcare (required)
- Full UK driving licence (required)
