An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Supervisor to join a growing infrastructure and engineering contractor delivering critical civils and EV charging projects across the UK. The business specialises in delivering complex infrastructure works within the highways, utilities, and clean energy sectors, supporting the expansion of the UK's EV charging network and wider energy transition projects.
This role will play a key part in overseeing site-based operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard across multiple active projects.
The Role
The Site Supervisor will be responsible for managing day-to-day site activity across EV charging and civils projects, coordinating subcontractors and operatives, and ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, budget, and health & safety requirements. This is a hands‐on supervisory role requiring regular travel and overnight stays across England, supporting projects from mobilisation through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise civils and EV charging infrastructure installation works across multiple sites
- Oversee groundworks activities including excavation, ducting, concrete works, reinstatement, and precast base installation
- Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company and client standards
- Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors on‐site
- Carry out regular site inspections, toolbox talks, and health & safety checks
- Maintain strong working relationships with councils, contractors, suppliers, and clients
- Monitor project progress and support delivery against programme timelines
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and site procedures
- Support issue resolution and maintain high standards of workmanship across all projects
Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Proven experience supervising civils, groundworks, highways, or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of excavation works, concrete works, utilities, and heavy plant operations
- Experience working around diggers, dumpers, and site machinery
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders on active construction sites
- Strong awareness of health & safety regulations and site compliance requirements
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A proactive, hands‐on approach to site management and problem‐solving
- Full UK driving licence
The following would be advantageous:
- Highways or street works knowledge
- Telecoms or utilities sector background with strong civils exposure
- NRSWA or relevant site safety certifications
- Experience working with local authorities and public infrastructure projects
Candidates must be fully comfortable with regular UK travel and overnight stays (typically 3–4 nights per week). Applicants must have genuine hands‐on civils or groundworks experience — this is essential for the role.
