The company delivers complex, low-volume, high-specification vehicle programmes and is continuing to grow its engineering and manufacturing capability. The business operates in a highly regulated environment and places strong emphasis on quality, safety, and technical compliance.

The Role

The Unit Production Manager will take full ownership of day-to-day production activity within a vehicle conversion unit. You will be responsible for planning, coordination and delivery of builds, managing multi-skilled teams and ensuring customer specifications, quality standards and delivery schedules are met. This role is fully on-site and highly operational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all daily production activity within the unit
  • Plan production schedules and resource allocation
  • Lead and manage production teams to meet output and quality targets
  • Ensure teams are working to latest specifications, drawings and BoMs
  • Track materials availability and liaise with suppliers
  • Coordinate wiring looms, electrical boards and fabrication activities
  • Manage specification changes and documentation (SCNs)
  • Track labour hours and monitor efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, regulatory frameworks and H&S standards
  • Liaise with customers and attend internal meetings

About You

  • Strong production or operations management background
  • Experience leading teams in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Confident managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Automotive, specialist vehicle or similar background preferred
  • Comfortable working fully on-site
