- Demonstrable hands‑on experience operating electric motor test cells / dynamometers.
- Practical experience testing electric motors and electric powertrain systems.
- Good understanding of electric motor operation, torque, speed, efficiency and thermal performance.
- Experience with test instrumentation, sensors and data acquisition systems.
- Ability to interpret test data and diagnose complex system‑level issues.
- Good understanding of high-voltage electrical safety and safe working practices.
- Ability to work independently in a practical test and development environment.
- Inverters and motor control systems.
- Battery and HV DC systems.
- Electric propulsion systems.
- Automated test systems and test scripting.
- CAN communications and associated analysis tools.
- MATLAB/Simulink or similar engineering analysis tools.
- Calibration and controls experience.
- Thermal and cooling system testing.
- Experience within automotive, marine, aerospace or other advanced electrification environments.
Working Arrangement
This is a 6-month contract based fully on site in Belfast, five days per week due to the hands‑on nature of the test and development work.
This position would suit an experienced Test Engineer who is comfortable working directly with electric powertrain hardware and motor test-cell equipment and can contribute immediately within a fast‑paced electrification development programme.
