Role: Business Development Executive / Manager, Clean Heat Technology

Location: South East England, hybrid, two days a week in Wokingham office initially, moving to largely remote with regular travel to meet installers

Working arrangement: Field based, full UK driving licence required

Overview: A relationship led business development role growing and managing an installer network for an innovative, UK-manufactured clean heat technology, recognised as its own product category by the UK government and included within the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. This is a genuine opportunity to join a fast growing clean tech business with real autonomy, direct access to leadership, and scope to shape how the installer network develops. Suited to someone with a passion for decarbonising home heating and the appetite to build something from the ground up.

The Role: You'll take ownership of qualified leads as they move through to installer handover, working closely with a network of installers to support them through to a closed sale. Beyond individual deals, you'll take a strategic view of installer performance across your region, identifying who's converting well and reallocating opportunities accordingly, while also building out installer coverage in underserved areas. Some technical support to installers is involved, fully trained in house, and there's growing scope to get involved in emerging enterprise opportunities alongside the core residential business.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of qualified leads at the point of handover and manage them through to installer close
  • Build, manage and grow a regional network of installer partners
  • Analyse installer conversion performance and reallocate opportunities to maximise results
  • Provide a degree of technical support to installers, with full in-house training provided
  • Carry out a small amount of proactive outreach and cold calling alongside inbound leads
  • Identify and pursue emerging enterprise opportunities alongside the core residential pipeline
  • Represent the business at installer visits and meetings across your region
  • Maintain strong, trust based relationships with installer partners over time

Requirements:

  • Experience within clean tech, heating or decarbonisation, heat pump or boiler background both welcome
  • Open to candidates from solar or battery sales backgrounds
  • A personable nature and appetite to get into the detail of a technical, evolving product
  • Real passion for decarbonising home heating and understanding the impact of the role
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in a small, fast moving team with limited formal process
  • Full UK driving licence, with regular travel to meet installers
