- We're recruiting for an experienced
Engineering Technical Support Manager to lead and develop a growing technical support function within the EV charging industry.
This is a hands-on leadership position, combining technical expertise with people management.
You'll be responsible for leading the technical support team, acting as the senior escalation point for complex charger issues, supporting installation partners and customers, and working closely with engineering and commercial teams to continuously improve products, processes and customer experience.
You'll initially manage a small technical support team, with the opportunity to grow and shape the department as the business continues to expand.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while developing people and helping drive a high-performing support function within a fast-growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop the Technical Support team.
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex EV charger faults and customer issues.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, hardware, software and communication faults.
- Provide technical support to installers during commissioning, configuration and troubleshooting.
- Support product testing, validation and firmware releases.
- Work closely with Engineering and Product teams to identify recurring issues and drive product improvements.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, installation guides and troubleshooting procedures.
- Monitor support performance, KPIs and customer satisfaction.
- Build strong relationships with customers, installation partners and internal stakeholders.
- Support the growth and development of the technical support function as the business expands.
- Previous experience working within the
- EV charging industry
( essential ).
- Strong technical support, field service or technical engineering background.
- Electrical engineering knowledge and fault-finding experience.
- Experience supporting AC and DC EV charging systems.
- Knowledge of OCPP, networking and charger communications.
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring technical teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- Experience supporting EV installers and commissioning engineers.
- Knowledge of battery storage, renewable energy or energy management systems.
- Experience with firmware updates and product testing.
- Experience using CRM or helpdesk platforms.

Quarterly company-wide bonus scheme , available to all employees
£1,000 per quarter when company targets are achieved.
£1,500 per quarter when company targets are exceeded.
80% of the quarterly bonus paid where at least 70% of target is achieved.
Hybrid working , with a minimum of three days per week in the office.
