Overview:
We are supporting a technology-led organisation based in Maidenhead that is expanding its test and validation capability.
They are looking for a hands-on Electrical or Test Technician to support the build, implementation and ongoing development of electrical test rigs, with optional involvement in test execution and experimental work.
This is a highly practical role, suited to someone who enjoys working in a lab or workshop environment, building hardware, supporting engineers and contributing directly to development and research activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Build, assemble and modify electrical and electro-mechanical test rigs
Support engineers with test setup, instrumentation and rig improvements
Assist with running tests where required (not essential, but highly desirable)
Fault-finding and troubleshooting of electrical systems and test setups
Support R&D and experimental work, feeding back practical findings
Maintain a safe, organised and effective lab / test environment
Required Background:
Electrical background (any industry considered – R&D, automotive, aerospace, energy, industrial, lab-based environments, etc.)
Strong hands-on experience working with electrical systems, wiring, components or test equipment
Comfortable building physical rigs and working from schematics or instructions
Mid to senior-level experience preferred
Research, lab or experimental background is a strong advantage
Nice to Have:
Experience running or supporting electrical tests
Exposure to R&D or prototype environments
Familiarity with instrumentation, sensors or data acquisition systems
Location & Working Pattern:
Based in Maidenhead
On-site 3–5 days per week (no remote work for the core role)
Some flexibility around scheduling
Contract & Pay:
£30–£40 per hour
Initially a contract role, with potential to move into a permanent position
Permanent salary (if applicable) will be determined based on the individual
