Working Pattern: On-site 3–5 days per week (some flexibility)

Contract Rate: £30–£40 per hour (outside IR35) – rolling contract

Overview: We are supporting a technology-led organisation based in Maidenhead that is expanding its test and validation capability. They are looking for a hands-on Electrical or Test Technician to support the build, implementation and ongoing development of electrical test rigs, with optional involvement in test execution and experimental work. This is a highly practical role, suited to someone who enjoys working in a lab or workshop environment, building hardware, supporting engineers and contributing directly to development and research activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, assemble and modify electrical and electro-mechanical test rigs
  • Support engineers with test setup, instrumentation and rig improvements
  • Assist with running tests where required (not essential, but highly desirable)
  • Fault-finding and troubleshooting of electrical systems and test setups
  • Support R&D and experimental work, feeding back practical findings
  • Maintain a safe, organised and effective lab / test environment

Required Background:

  • Electrical background (any industry considered – R&D, automotive, aerospace, energy, industrial, lab-based environments, etc.)
  • Strong hands-on experience working with electrical systems, wiring, components or test equipment
  • Comfortable building physical rigs and working from schematics or instructions
  • Mid to senior-level experience preferred
  • Research, lab or experimental background is a strong advantage

Nice to Have:

  • Experience running or supporting electrical tests
  • Exposure to R&D or prototype environments
  • Familiarity with instrumentation, sensors or data acquisition systems
