A fast-growing renewable energy and ESG specialist established in 2019, delivering turnkey solutions across Solar PV, battery storage, EV charging infrastructure and wider decarbonisation projects. Operating across new-build housing developments, commercial retrofit schemes and large-scale energy efficiency upgrades, the business provides a full concept-to-delivery service ensuring sustainability and planning targets are achieved. With an expanding project pipeline and strong market position, the company is seeking an experienced Renewable Energy Project Manager to oversee multiple live projects across Kent and the South East.
The Role
The Project Manager will take ownership of renewable energy installation contracts across multiple sectors, acting as the central point of contact for clients, site teams and internal departments. Projects include large multi-plot residential schemes, commercial solar installations, battery storage systems, EV charging infrastructure and full decarbonisation programmes. This is a hands-on delivery role combining technical oversight, commercial management and client liaison.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as first point of contact for allocated projects, teams and clients
- Oversee installations across multiple live sites
- Conduct site surveys, material take-offs and pricing exercises
- Liaise with and schedule direct labour and subcontractors
- Oversee deliveries and logistics across multiple sites
- Assist with design coordination and estimating
- Prepare and review H&S documentation (RAMS)
- Manage procurement in collaboration with the Operations Manager
- Provide daily project updates to clients and internal teams
- Liaise with design teams throughout delivery
- Manage defects and oversee commissioning processes
- Train, mentor and support apprentices/trainees
- Manage variation orders and project forecasting
- Support installations and commissioning where required
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience delivering renewable energy projects, particularly Solar PV installations within commercial environments
- Electrical background or relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
- Strong understanding of Solar PV, battery storage systems, EV charging infrastructure and decarbonisation technologies
- Experience with surveys, RAMS preparation, material take-offs and procurement
- Demonstrable experience managing direct labour and subcontractors across multiple projects
- Experience overseeing commissioning and defect management
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and site compliance (SMSTS, IOSH or equivalent preferred)
- Experience within social housing retrofit or large residential schemes (advantageous)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
