The Opportunity
We're looking for a hands on Production Manager to lead day to day manufacturing operations within a fast paced engineering environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the shop floor, working closely with production teams and driving quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.
This isn't a desk based management role.
You'll be actively involved in production, supporting your team, solving problems and ensuring products are manufactured to the highest standards.
CAD experience is essential
, as you'll work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to review designs, support production and help improve manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day to day running of the production department.
- Lead, motivate and develop production staff.
- Ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and on time.
- Support manufacturing processes using CAD software to review and interpret designs.
- Work closely with design and engineering teams to improve manufacturability.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement lean manufacturing principles.
- Monitor quality standards and ensure products meet company specifications.
- Manage production scheduling and resource planning.
- Resolve production issues quickly to minimise downtime.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Monitor KPIs including productivity, quality and delivery performance.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys leading from the front and has a genuine passion for manufacturing.
You’ll ideally have
- Previous experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Production Supervisor within an engineering or automotive environment.
- Strong hands on leadership experience.
- Essential CAD experience with the ability to read and work from technical drawings.
- Excellent understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Experience managing production teams and improving performance.
- Strong problem solving and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
- Experience within automotive, motorsport or fabrication manufacturing.
- Welding or fabrication knowledge.
- Experience with stainless steel manufacturing or exhaust systems.
- HNC, HND or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline.
