We are supporting an advanced aerospace programme focused on next-generation, sustainable aircraft technology. As part of a growing engineering team, we are looking for three Mechanical Design Engineers with strong experience in aircraft structural / airframe design to support an intensive design and development phase.
This is a hands-on role suited to engineers who are comfortable owning structural design tasks within a regulated aerospace environment and working at pace on complex assemblies.
Key Responsibilities- Design and development of aircraft primary and secondary structures, including airframe components
- Creation and modification of 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings
- Structural concept development, trade studies, and design optimisation
- Liaison with stress, manufacturing, and systems teams to ensure design integration
- Support design reviews and provide technical input through the development lifecycle
- Ensure designs comply with relevant aerospace standards and certification requirements
- Work collaboratively within a distributed engineering team (hybrid / remote setup)
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within aerospace / aviation
- Strong background in aircraft structural / airframe design
- Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g. CATIA, NX, SolidWorks or similar)
- Understanding of aerospace materials (metallics and/or composites)
- Experience working within regulated engineering environments
- Ability to work autonomously and deliver to tight timescales
- UK-based and eligible to work on aerospace programmes
- Exposure to novel or sustainable aircraft concepts
- Experience working alongside stress / analysis teams
- Knowledge of certification considerations (CS-23 / CS-25 or equivalent)
- Outside IR35
- Initial 3-month contract, with strong likelihood of extension
- Hybrid or fully remote working considered (UK-based)
- Competitive hourly rate dependent on experience (£35–£55/hr)
