This is a broad, hands-on Systems Engineering role within a high-performance engineering environment developing advanced electronic systems for demanding applications. The position would suit an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong background in electronics who enjoys working across the full product lifecycle, from early concept and design through to validation, deployment, and continuous improvement.

The role is fully technical and requires someone comfortable operating at system level, while still being hands-on with hardware, sensors, and electronic design. You will also be expected to lead projects and development programmes, working cross-functionally to deliver robust, reliable solutions.

As a Systems Engineer, you will take ownership of complex electronic systems, coordinating hardware, sensors, RF, and embedded elements to deliver end-to-end solutions. You will play a key role in defining requirements, driving development programmes, and ensuring projects are delivered to time, cost, and quality targets.

While the role has structure, it is intentionally broad, offering exposure across design, development, testing, production support, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead systems-level development of electronic products from concept through to production
  • Own requirements definition, architecture, and system integration activities
  • Design, develop, and validate electronic hardware with a strong focus on sensors (pressure, temperature, humidity or similar)
  • Manage and deliver engineering projects and development programmes, coordinating activities across disciplines
  • Act as the technical authority for assigned systems, supporting issues across the full product lifecycle
  • Work closely with software, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure robust and manufacturable designs
  • Plan and support testing, validation, and verification activities at system level
  • Produce clear technical documentation, reports, and design records
  • Drive continuous improvement in product performance, reliability, and engineering processes
About You:

You will be an experienced Systems Engineer with a strong electronics background who is comfortable working at both system and component level. You will have proven experience leading projects or development programmes and be confident taking technical ownership.

Essential Experience:
  • Strong background in electronics engineering
  • Experience working with sensors and electronic systems
  • Proven experience running projects or development programmes
  • Systems-level thinking with the ability to balance detail and big-picture design
  • Hands-on approach with a willingness to remain technically involved
  • Ability to work across the full product lifecycle
Desirable Experience:
  • Background in electronics design, hardware development, or system architecture
  • Experience in regulated, high-reliability, or performance-driven environments
  • Exposure to RF, wireless systems, or embedded hardware/software integration
  • Automotive, motorsport, aerospace, or similar engineering backgrounds
Package & Benefits:
  • Salary up to £65,000
  • Up to 3% annual bonus
  • 25 days' holiday plus 8 public holidays
  • Group personal pension
  • Hybrid working
  • Virtual GP access
  • Employee Assistance Programme
