Mobile Mechanical or Electrical HV Technician – Renewable Energy – Kent – £45k + OT + Van

Role: Mobile / Field Based – Mechanical or Electrical Technician (HV)

Location: Southern Region (HQ: St Albans – mobile role)

Salary & Package: Up to £45,000 basic + Overtime (x1.5), Company Van & Fuel Card

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Mechanical or Electrical Technician (HV) to join our growing team, supporting critical infrastructure projects across the southern region.

This is a field-based position where you’ll spend around 80% of your time travelling to client sites, carrying out servicing, maintenance, and site installations.

Based out of our St Albans hub, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our equipment and systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently, supporting both planned and reactive works.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, servicing, testing, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems, with a focus on HV (high-voltage) equipment.
• Undertake mobile site work across the southern region, ensuring jobs are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.
• Diagnose and repair faults on both mechanical and electrical systems.
• Assist with commissioning of new systems and site setups.
• Complete all required job reports, documentation, and compliance checks.
• Work closely with project teams, ensuring health & safety standards are maintained at all times.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical or Electrical Technician (ideally with exposure to HV systems).
• Strong technical knowledge in installation, maintenance, and servicing of plant, equipment, or site-based systems.
• A recognised qualification (NVQ, HNC, City & Guilds or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and work independently on-site.
• Full UK driving licence (essential, due to the mobile nature of the role).
• Flexible, with the ability to travel extensively across the southern region.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, safety-first mindset.

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience in temporary power, site services, modular buildings, or renewable energy systems.
• Knowledge of electrical testing procedures and compliance standards.
• CSCS / ECS card or similar industry certification.
