What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who takes ownership, thrives on responsibility and enjoys building something from the ground up. You'll combine a strong electrical background with the commercial and stakeholder management skills to run a live contract from the front, working collaboratively with health & safety, planning, permitting and commercial teams to keep delivery on track.
Overview
We're recruiting for a Senior Electrical Project Manager to join an established civils, fibre and telecoms business that is expanding into EV charging infrastructure. This is a newly created role for someone to take ownership of the day-to-day operational delivery of a long-term contract with a leading EV charge point operator, acting as the main point of contact for the client and leading the project from the front. Working closely with in-house health & safety, planning, permitting and commercial teams, you'll be fully supported to focus on delivery rather than admin, with real scope to help build and shape a new division as the company's EV charging work grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall accountability for the day-to-day operational management of the contract(s)
- Act as the primary point of liaison with the client, building and maintaining a strong working relationship
- Manage delivery against the agreed programme, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met
- Work closely with the in-house health & safety team on construction phase plans and RAMS
- Liaise with the planning and permitting teams to keep works progressing smoothly
- Work with the commercial team to track project financials and reporting
- Provide leadership and support to project management and site colleagues working on the contract
- Help identify opportunities to grow the EV charging division as further contracts are secured
Essential Requirements
- An electrical background
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant project management experience
- Strong programme and stakeholder management skills, comfortable liaising directly with clients
- A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, growing business
Desirable Experience
- EV charging experience, ideally on-street/public charging infrastructure (e.g. with a CPO, ICP or similar)
- 5+ years' relevant project management experience
- Progression from a hands-on, on-the-tools background into project management
What's on Offer
- Newly secured, long-term contract offering job security
- A growing, ambitious business with a motivated team
- Full support from in-house health & safety, planning, permitting and commercial teams
- Electric company car
- Real scope to shape and grow the EV charging division over time
