My EV Charging client is looking for a Project Manager with experience delivering civil engineering and on-street infrastructure projects to join their growing delivery team. This role will focus on the delivery of EV charging projects across London and surrounding regions, with a strong emphasis on highways coordination, on-street works, and public realm interfaces. You will manage projects from early planning and approvals through construction and handover, working closely with Highways teams, local authorities, and civils contractors. This is a hybrid role, with regular attendance (3 days) in the London office and travel to sites as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of EV charging projects with a focus on civil works, street works, and on-street furniture
  • Track and own key project milestones including permits, design approvals, traffic management, civils delivery, reinstatement, and handover
  • Act as a key point of contact with Highways Authorities / Highways Managers, ensuring requirements and approvals are met
  • Coordinate internal teams and external delivery partners including civils contractors, utilities, and local authority stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with CDM 2015, including management and review of RAMS and Construction Phase Plans
  • Carry out site visits to monitor progress, quality, and health & safety compliance
  • Manage project reporting covering programme, risks/issues, costs, and contractor performance
  • Ensure all project documentation is maintained accurately from project initiation through to operational handover
  • Coordinate materials and equipment delivery to align with construction schedules
  • Proactively identify and resolve on-site issues to minimise delays and cost impact

Skills and Experience

  • Experience delivering civil engineering, highways, or on-street infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of highways processes, permits, and working in live public environments
  • Proven experience working with Highways Authorities / Highways Managers
  • Working knowledge of CDM 2015 and contractor H&S documentation (RAMS / CPP)
  • SMSTS or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Background in civil engineering, highways, utilities, or public realm projects
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment
  • Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
