About the Company:
My client are one of the UK's fastest-growing independent rapid EV charging networks, sites are located in retail parks and shopping centres across the country, putting fast, reliable charging exactly where drivers need it. They work with a lean team and move fast. This role sits at the heart of how they get discovered and chosen by drivers.
The Role:
This is a standalone marketing position, you'll be the first dedicated hire in the team, reporting directly to senior leadership. There's no internal marketing function to hand things off to, so you'll own the full mix: from campaign planning to execution to measurement. The focus is location-based marketing. With more drivers searching for "EV charging near me" every day, winning at the local level on Google, on Meta, in the physical environment around our sites, is where you'll have the most impact. You'll be supported by existing external brand and website infrastructure, so you're not starting from scratch. But you'll have real ownership and the opportunity to build something from the ground up.
What You'll Do:
- Own the marketing plan for new site launches, from campaign planning through to execution and measurement
- Run performance campaigns at existing sites to drive awareness and usage, Google Ads, Meta, local OOH
- Manage Google Business profiles across the network, ensuring accuracy, reviews and local SEO
- Plan and manage budgets and timelines per location, tailoring approach to each site's audience and context
- Determine the right mix of tactics per location, paid digital, leaflet drops, OOH, local partnerships, community presence
- Manage local PR activity and media relationships where relevant
- Plan and coordinate content capture at sites, photography, video, customer moments
- Monitor campaign performance and use data to improve future activity
- Work closely with operations, projects and senior leadership to align on timelines and messaging
Skills & Qualifications:
- 2+ years in a marketing, campaign or brand role - ideally location-based, transport, retail or similar
- Hands-on experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads, and Google Business / local SEO
- Proven track record planning and delivering multi-channel campaigns
- Comfortable working without a team around you, you plan, execute and report yourself
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Excellent written communication, you can adapt tone across channels
- Experience in EV, automotive, transport infrastructure or adjacent sectors (e.g. car parks, fuel retail, FMCG at retail locations)
- Familiarity with Out of Home (OOH) planning and buying
- Confidence with video and photography coordination, you don't need to shoot it yourself, but you know how to brief it
- Experience managing external suppliers and agencies
