Overview of the Role

The Account Manager is the primary relationship owner for existing bus and fleet clients across the United Kingdom. This is a client-facing, commercially focused role centred on protecting and growing established accounts, ensuring clients receive consistent value from our charging infrastructure, and coordinating internally to keep uptime commitments on track.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account & Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for existing bus operator and fleet clients across the UK.
  • Own account health - proactively managing satisfaction, identifying risks, and escalating concerns early.
  • Conduct regular account reviews and service check-ins, ensuring clients feel genuinely supported.
  • Manage contract renewals and negotiate extensions in line with commercial objectives.
  • Commercial Growth
    • Identify and develop upsell and expansion opportunities within existing accounts including additional hardware, Operation & Maintenance contracts, remote monitoring packages, and depot upgrades.
    • Maintain an accurate account pipeline and track revenue forecasts within CRM.
    • Feed client intelligence and market feedback into the wider commercial and product teams.
  • Operational Coordination
    • Work closely with Service Delivery, Technical, and Commissioning teams to ensure client commitments and SLAs are met.
    • Coordinate access, scheduling, and communication around planned maintenance, fault response, and site interventions.
    • Represent the company professionally at client sites, depot visits, and operational reviews.
  • Reporting & Documentation
    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of client activity, account status, risks, and opportunities in CRM.
    • Contribute to client-facing reporting on asset performance, uptime, and SLA compliance.
    • Provide regular internal updates on account status and market conditions.

    Skills and Experience

    • Proven track record in account management, customer success, or a client-facing commercial role, ideally within transport, fleet, infrastructure, or a related technical sector.
    • Ability to engage credibly with depot managers, fleet directors, and transport authorities.
    • Comfortable holding technical conversations around EV charging hardware, uptime performance, and infrastructure reliability; you don’t need to be an engineer, but you need to hold your own.
    • Strong communicator - written, verbal, and in person. You build trust quickly and maintain it over time.
    • Self-managed and proactive - you identify when a client needs attention without being prompted.
    • Willingness and ability to travel across the UK for client meetings and site visits.

    Qualifications

    • Background in commercial, operational, or technical account management (transport, energy, or industrial sectors preferred).
    • Valid UK driver’s licence.
    • Right to work in the UK.

    Desirable

    • Experience with EV charging, zero-emission transport, or clean energy infrastructure.
    • Existing relationships within the UK bus, coach, or public transport sector.
    • Familiarity with DC charging systems or depot electrification environments.
    • Experience working in a growth-stage or scaling business where you have had to build process as you go.

    Performance Expectations

    • High client retention across the existing UK account base.
    • Consistent SLA compliance across commissioning, maintenance, and fault response milestones.
    • Revenue growth through structured upsell activity within existing accounts.
    • Accurate and up-to-date account records maintained in CRM at all times.
    • Strong client satisfaction evidenced through account reviews and direct feedback.
