The business operates across commercial, residential and large-scale energy efficiency schemes, providing full concept-to-delivery renewable installations that support sustainability and planning targets. Due to continued growth and an expanding commercial project pipeline, the company is seeking an experienced Electrician Team Leader to oversee commercial renewable installations across the South East.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role for a fully qualified commercial electrician with renewable energy experience. You will lead installation teams across Solar PV, battery storage and EV charging projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship, compliance and safe site delivery. The role involves both supervisory responsibilities and on-the-tools work where required, with clear progression pathways within a scaling renewable energy business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee commercial renewable installations
- Install and commission Solar PV systems, battery storage units and EV charging infrastructure
- Supervise and coordinate site teams and subcontractors
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to specification
- Support commissioning and testing activities
- Maintain high standards of quality control and compliance
- Communicate effectively with clients, site managers and internal teams
- Manage materials and ensure accurate documentation and certification
- Mentor and support junior engineers and apprentices
Essential Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installation (or equivalent)
- City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical qualification
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- Inspection & Testing (2391 / 2394 & 2395 or equivalent)
- AM2 / AM2S certification
- Valid ECS Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
- DBS check (required)
Desirable:
- Renewable technologies qualification (Solar PV / Battery Storage / EV – C&G or BPEC)
- PASMA / IPAF
- Health & Safety training (SMSTS / SSSTS advantageous)
- Commissioning experience
