About the Company

You’ll be joining a well-established and fast-growing UK infrastructure contractor delivering contestable utility connections and wider infrastructure solutions across commercial, industrial and renewable energy projects. The business has:

  • Strong financial backing and a healthy order book
  • Established relationships across developers, contractors and utilities
  • Full in-house delivery capability (design, project management and construction)
  • A reputation for quality, compliance and reliability
  • Clear growth plans across renewables, EV and major infrastructure

They are now investing in expanding their commercial team to drive the next phase of growth.

The Opportunity

This is a genuine entry-level route into the infrastructure and utilities sector. You do not need ICP or utilities experience. If you’ve worked in sales, recruitment, telesales, SDR/BDR, fundraising, or any target-driven environment, and you’re confident speaking to people and generating opportunities, this is a long-term career move into a high-value, project-led market. You’ll be learning directly from experienced commercial leaders while building your own pipeline.

What You’ll Be Doing

In your first 6–12 months, you will:

  • Research target accounts (developers, contractors, consultants, asset owners)
  • Run proactive outreach via phone, email and LinkedIn
  • Book meetings for senior team members and attend to learn the market
  • Qualify new opportunities and support early-stage project discussions
  • Assist with tender support and proposal coordination
  • Maintain CRM records and track activity against clear targets
  • Attend networking events and industry forums

Over time, you’ll take ownership of your own accounts and projects, often linked to schemes valued at £1m+.

What We’re Looking For

  • Exposure to sales or outreach (any sector)
  • Comfortable with proactive contact and relationship building
  • Confident, resilient and commercially minded
  • Organised and target-driven
  • Ambitious and motivated by progression
  • Happy with UK travel and 3–4 days per week in Durham HQ

You Do NOT Need

  • Utilities or ICP experience
  • An engineering background
  • An existing industry network

If you can build trust and generate conversations, the technical side can be taught.
