About the Opportunity

We are supporting a rapidly growing engineering and infrastructure business delivering renewable energy and EV charging projects across the UK. The business operates nationally across electrical infrastructure, renewables and energy solutions, with a dedicated clean energy division focused on the deployment of commercial EV charging infrastructure and associated electrical upgrades. Due to continued growth and increasing project demand, they are looking to hire an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of EV Charging infrastructure projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to join a scaling clean energy business delivering large-scale infrastructure projects within the commercial, industrial and public sector markets.

The Role

The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of EV charging infrastructure projects, managing activities from mobilisation through to commissioning and final handover. You will coordinate engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest operational standards. This role would suit someone with strong operational delivery and project management experience within EV charging and electrical infrastructure. The successful candidate will report directly to the Contracts Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple renewable energy and EV infrastructure projects across the UK.
  • Oversee projects from mobilisation through to commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinate installation teams, subcontractors, suppliers and operational support functions.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
  • Monitor project risks, delivery milestones and operational performance.
  • Develop and maintain project programmes and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate and manage both civils and electrical workstreams across concurrent project phases, ensuring programme alignment between disciplines.
  • Coordinate procurement activities and material deliveries.
  • Support surveys, mobilisation planning and site readiness activities.
  • Manage project documentation, reporting and operational updates.
  • Coordinate commissioning, testing and client handover activities.
  • Support budget management, forecasting and cost tracking.
  • Manage variations, change control and subcontractor performance.
  • Monitor project progress and maintain programme visibility.
  • Support operational improvements and scalable delivery processes.
  • Ensure high standards of quality and client satisfaction across all projects.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants and delivery partners.
  • Attend project meetings, progress reviews and coordination activities.
  • Provide regular updates on programme status and delivery milestones.
  • Support onboarding and mobilisation of new projects and contracts.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with company H&S procedures and industry regulations.
  • Act as or support the Principal Contractor representative ensuring full CDM 2015 compliance across all project phases.
  • Review RAMS, permits and compliance documentation.
  • Promote safe working practices across all project activities.
  • Support audits, inspections and operational compliance requirements.

Experience Required

Essential

  • Proven experience in a Project Manager, Contracts Supervisor or similar delivery-focused role.
  • Experience delivering EV charging and electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of operational project delivery and programme management.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Good commercial awareness including change control and cost management.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving capability.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Qualifications Required

  • SMSTS.
  • SSSTS.
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing.
  • EV Charging Qualification.

Highly Desirable Experience

  • EV charging infrastructure project delivery experience.
  • Experience within electrical contracting, utilities or M&E environments.
  • Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contract principles.
  • Understanding of commissioning and electrical compliance processes.
  • ECS / CSCS Card.
  • Experience working within fast-paced operational delivery environments.
