As the division continues to grow, they're looking for a technically capable, commercially aware Project Manager who can take ownership of projects from initial planning through to installation, commissioning and final handover.
The Role
This is a hands-on project management position, responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of EV charging infrastructure projects across Scotland.
You'll manage the full project lifecycle, coordinating internal engineering teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required technical standards.
The position is primarily based at the company's Hamilton office, with regular travel to project sites and client meetings as required.
You'll play an important role in supporting the growth of the EV division, ensuring projects run smoothly from initial scope and planning through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage EV charging infrastructure projects from initial planning and design coordination through to installation, commissioning and handover.
- Take ownership of project programmes, budgets, resources, timelines and overall delivery.
- Coordinate electrical engineers, installation teams, subcontractors and external suppliers.
- Oversee the delivery of commercial EV charging installations, including associated electrical infrastructure and site works.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and providing regular progress updates.
- Manage project documentation, schedules, procurement requirements and reporting.
- Work closely with internal engineering and commercial teams to ensure projects remain commercially viable.
- Monitor project costs, variations, risks and potential delays, taking corrective action where required.
- Ensure all works comply with relevant electrical regulations, health and safety requirements and industry standards.
- Coordinate site activities, technical queries, installation works and commissioning schedules.
- Support site surveys, project planning, contractor management and resource allocation.
- Ensure projects are completed to the required quality standards and successfully handed over to clients.
Experience & Requirements
- Proven experience managing electrical infrastructure, EV charging, M&E or similar engineering installation projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical installations, infrastructure delivery and construction/site operations.
- Demonstrable experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, from initial planning to completion.
- Experience coordinating engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and multiple stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness, including project budgets, cost control, variations and programme management.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of UK health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work primarily from the Hamilton office and travel to sites as required.
- Knowledge of AC and DC charging systems and associated electrical infrastructure.
- Experience working with EV charging manufacturers such as Kempower, ABB, Alpitronic or similar.
- Background working for an electrical contractor, EV charging installer, ICP, utilities contractor or M&E business.
- Experience managing commercial electrical installations, power distribution and associated civil works.
- Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, SSSTS, PRINCE2, APM or an electrical engineering qualification.
- Experience working with commercial, industrial, utility or public sector clients.
The Ideal Candidate
We're particularly interested in speaking with Project Managers who have a strong electrical or infrastructure background and enjoy being closely involved in the technical and operational side of project delivery.
You'll be comfortable managing several moving parts simultaneously, coordinating engineers and subcontractors, solving problems on-site and maintaining strong relationships with customers.
Previous EV charging experience would be particularly valuable, although candidates from wider electrical infrastructure, utilities and M&E contracting backgrounds will also be considered.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, working within a growing business and having a direct impact on project delivery.
