Location: London / Home / Customer Sites, with travel to the Guildford office as required

EVEREC is working with a growing business within the EV charging sector to recruit an experienced Field Engineer to join its UK technical team.

This is a hands-on position supporting the commissioning, servicing, maintenance and fault finding of commercial, fleet and public EV charging infrastructure, with a particular focus on maintaining charger reliability and uptime.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for:

• Installation and commissioning support across AC and DC EV charging equipment
• Servicing, maintaining and repairing EV chargers, including rapid, ultra-rapid and high-power DC systems
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive call-outs
• Diagnosing electrical, electronic, communications, software and backend connectivity faults
• Fault finding across power modules, cooling systems, communications equipment and safety circuits
• Working confidently with LV electrical systems and 3-phase power
• Configuring charging equipment and completing functional testing
• Supporting firmware and software-related work where required
• Verifying charger availability and network connectivity
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, technical manuals and OEM documentation
• Completing accurate service records, test results, parts usage and corrective-action reports
• Communicating professionally with customers, site operators, CPOs, network partners and suppliers
• Identifying recurring faults and escalating technical or operational issues
• Taking ownership of the Guildford office spare-parts inventory and warehousing, including receiving, organising and maintaining stock and equipment
• Supporting service tickets within contracted SLAs
• Participating in the after-hours Service Desk as required

Requirements

EV charging experience is essential for this position.

• Hands-on experience working with AC and DC EV charging infrastructure
• Proven experience commissioning, servicing, maintaining and fault finding EV chargers
• Experience with rapid, ultra-rapid or high-power DC charging
• Strong electrical fault-finding capability across LV and 3-phase systems
• Ability to diagnose electrical, hardware, software, communications and backend connectivity issues
• Experience using relevant electrical test equipment and diagnostic tools
• Ability to read electrical schematics and follow OEM procedures
• Confidence working independently across customer sites
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills
• A calm, methodical and safety-conscious approach
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
• Experience with Kempower and/or Zerova charging equipment
• Experience across other leading AC/DC charging manufacturers
• 18th Edition
• Manufacturer/OEM-specific EV charging training

The Person

This position would suit an experienced:

You’ll be someone who enjoys being hands-on, takes ownership of technical problems and is comfortable working independently across customer sites.

You’ll also need to be comfortable taking responsibility for the Guildford spare-parts and warehouse operation, ensuring stock and equipment are received, organised and maintained effectively to support the wider field operation.
