Location: UK wide. Primarily field based with regular client meetings and travel. Access to a shared workspace in London or another preferred city can be provided.
The ideal candidate will be a well-connected senior sales professional with a strong network across UK wind asset owners and operators, proven success selling data or AI software, and the confidence to act as the organisation’s UK lead while driving new business and nurturing long term client relationships.
Company Overview: My client is a fast-growing data and AI software company serving the renewable energy sector. Following strong growth in other regions, the business is now expanding its commercial presence in the UK. This will be the first dedicated sales hire in the region and will play a central role in shaping the UK strategy.
Role Overview: This person will act as the leader of the organisation in the UK. The focus is on new business growth through high quality data and AI software sales while also owning client relationships after onboarding to minimise silent churn. This is a senior role that requires strong market presence and the ability to represent the business credibly with senior decision makers. The role reports directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all commercial activity in the UK market, taking full ownership of new client acquisition and revenue growth.
- Manage the full sales cycle including prospecting, qualification, technical positioning, negotiation and closing.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to reduce churn risk and ensure high satisfaction.
- Represent the organisation with authority in meetings with asset owners, investors, operators and third party asset management firms.
- Act as the UK market expert, advising leadership on opportunities, competitive movements and emerging client needs.
- Build a UK sales pipeline from scratch through network outreach and targeted account development.
- Work closely with international colleagues to ensure consistent messaging and strong collaboration.
Experience Required:
- Proven experience selling software within the renewable energy sector, ideally data or AI products.
- Established network within UK wind O and M and asset management teams with relationships at decision maker level.
- Track record of closing complex, multi stakeholder deals within asset owner or investor environments.
- Experience operating in a senior commercial role where autonomy and leadership are important.
- Knowledge of wind asset operations, performance analytics or predictive maintenance is beneficial.
Personal Qualities:
- Confident communicator who can act as the UK lead for the organisation.
- Comfortable working independently with limited local infrastructure.
- Strong relationship builder who can maintain trust with both new and existing clients.
- Proactive, hands on and motivated by establishing a market presence from the ground up.
