An established, engineering-led specialist vehicle conversion business operating across emergency services, defence, and commercial vehicle platforms. The company delivers complex, low-volume, high-specification vehicle programmes for Ambulance, Police, Fire, Military and commercial clients across the UK and internationally, and is continuing to scale its manufacturing and operational capability. Operating in a highly regulated environment, the business places strong emphasis on quality, delivery, and commercial control across all projects.

This is a senior, commercially focused management role responsible for overseeing customer contracts from project launch through to delivery across multiple vehicle programmes. Reporting directly to the Group CEO, you will act as the commercial lead across live projects, working closely with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure programmes are delivered on time, to specification, and within margin. The role is fully on-site and suited to someone comfortable operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where multiple contracts run in parallel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own customer contracts from project start to completion
  • Act as commercial interface between customers, production and internal stakeholders
  • Manage Bills of Materials against specification, quality and margin targets
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure materials and components are delivered on time and to standard
  • Track project performance through agreed KPIs
  • Ensure factory process flows are optimised for delivery and efficiency
  • Support cost control, margin protection and commercial reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement across project delivery and operational performance

About You

  • Proven experience in contract or commercial management within a manufacturing or assembly environment
  • Background in vehicle conversion or complex build environments highly desirable
  • Business, Finance or Quantity Surveying qualification preferred
  • Comfortable managing multiple live contracts simultaneously
  • Strong commercial awareness with hands-on operational mindset
  • Confident working cross-functionally with production, engineering and supply chain
  • Driven, accountable and comfortable in a senior on-site role (no hybrid)
