Role: EV Charging Installer / Renewable Energy Electrician (Contract)

Location: South of England, Kent, Bristol region, Basingstoke / Farnham, South Wales, Central East

Working Arrangement: Field-Based / Onsite

Duration: 3 Month Initial Contract (Outside IR35)

A growing national EV infrastructure specialist delivering commercial fleet charging networks and providing maintenance and corrective fault support across the UK. The business holds significant long-term infrastructure contracts and is expanding its engineering capability to support nationwide rollout and maintenance programmes.

Role Overview

This contract position focuses on EV charger installation, maintenance and fault management across domestic and commercial environments, supporting large infrastructure and fleet projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation of domestic and commercial EV charging equipment
  • Maintenance and reactive fault resolution
  • Supporting commercial fleet and public infrastructure projects
  • Working in line with safety and compliance standards

Candidate Requirements

  • Fully qualified electrician
  • Gold Card (preferred/required)
  • Strong experience in domestic & commercial EV charger installs
  • Maintenance and fault-finding capability
  • Solar/BESS experience desirable
  • Able to pass DBS clearance
  • Clean driving licence (up to 3 points acceptable)
  • Comfortable with travel and overnight stays (max once per week)

Travel & Working Pattern

  • Field-based
  • Maximum 1 overnight stay per week
  • Accommodation and meals expensed
  • Standard site hours
