Commissioning & Compliance Technician - EV Charging Infrastructure

Location: United Kingdom (Field-based | Travel across depots and fleet sites)

The Opportunity

An exciting field-based opportunity is available for a technically skilled and quality-driven Commissioning & Compliance Technician to support the delivery, maintenance, and compliance of EV charging infrastructure across fleet and depot sites in the UK.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety, performance, and long-term reliability of high-power charging systems through hands-on commissioning, preventive maintenance, compliance validation, and service coordination. You’ll be the on-site technical authority, ensuring installations meet all regulatory, OEM, and internal quality standards.

Working closely with the UK Country Manager and supported by a remote technical team, this role suits someone who thrives in the field, takes ownership of quality outcomes, and is confident working independently across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commissioning & QA: Install and configure EV chargers, verify technical setup, and complete QA documentation.
  • Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance and support diagnostics to ensure system reliability.
  • Partner Oversight: Support and guide contractors on-site to maintain quality and compliance.
  • SLA & Documentation: Deliver services within agreed timeframes and maintain complete, auditable records.
  • Technical Support: Act as the first responder for site issues and coordinate escalations and parts logistics.

Candidate Profile

  • Technical Experience: Hands-on background with EV charging systems, industrial electrics, or automation
  • Specialist Knowledge: Familiar with high-power DC charging, electrical testing, and BS7671 standards
  • Skills: Able to interpret schematics, perform inspections, and troubleshoot faults
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent), Inspection & Testing certification (preferred), ECS/JIB accreditation (advantageous)
  • Other Requirements: Valid UK driver’s licence and right to work in the UK
