Role Overview

We're seeking an experienced and proactive Energy Manager to support the delivery of energy assessments and investment grade proposals across a diverse commercial property portfolio in the UK, with opportunities to work on projects across Europe. The successful candidate will drive energy efficiency improvements and renewable energy strategies, including solar PV, across a range of assets. For a candidate with strong leadership potential, there may be scope for this to sit at a more senior level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Energy Strategy & Delivery
    • Support the development and implementation of energy management strategies to optimise operational performance and reduce energy consumption across assets
    • Conduct detailed energy audits and identify opportunities for efficiency, renewable integration (including solar PV), and cost savings
    • Lead on the delivery of energy reporting and sustainability assessments across managed portfolios
  • Data & Compliance
    • Oversee energy data monitoring, analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with relevant UK and European legislation
    • Manage energy performance certifications and contribute to regulatory submissions
    • Ensure adherence to standards such as EPC, ISO 50001, BREEAM, LEED, and NABERS
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Collaborate with property management teams, occupiers, and sustainability leads to promote and deliver carbon reduction and ESG initiatives
    • Produce and present reports, business cases, and investment proposals for internal and external stakeholders
    • Work independently and collaboratively within a wider team environment

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 3-5 years' experience in energy management within commercial real estate or corporate environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of energy management systems, energy performance contracting, and sustainability frameworks (EPC, NABERS, ISO 50001, BREEAM, LEED)
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and energy modelling software
  • Experience in solar PV modelling
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences

Desirable Qualifications

  • Professional certification (CMVP, ISO 50001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent)
  • Experience managing external consultants and energy service providers
  • Understanding of UK and European energy legislation, including SECR and ESOS
  • A curious, strategic mindset with a results-driven approach
