My client is a nationwide solar and battery distributor, supplying high-quality solar products sourced directly from manufacturers. With strong relationships across the industry and exclusive pricing agreements, they provide in-demand solar panels, inverters, battery storage, and mounting materials.
The Role
They are seeking a motivated and commercially driven Business Development Manager to accelerate growth and expand market presence across the UK solar sector.
This is a client-facing role where you will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building long-term customer relationships, and driving sales across solar distributors, installers, and contractors. You will play a key role in positioning the company as a trusted partner in the renewable energy supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a business development strategy to grow sales across solar panels, inverters, battery storage, and mounting systems.
- Build and manage strong client relationships with installers, contractors, and distributors.
- Identify, target, and convert new business opportunities, creating a sustainable pipeline of projects.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements in line with company objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of products and outstanding customer service.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform business growth strategy.
- Report sales performance and progress directly to senior leadership
About You
- Proven experience in business development, account management, or sales, ideally within solar, renewables, or electrical wholesale.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to win and grow key accounts.
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Self-starter with a results-driven mindset.
- Knowledge of solar PV products (panels, inverters, storage, or mounting systems) is highly desirable.
- Based within commutable distance to Birmingham with flexibility to travel to clients when required.
