We are looking for a commercially minded Bid Manager to operate at the centre of a fast-moving sales environment, owning bids from early opportunity through to contract award. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who enjoys shaping strategy, working closely with Sales, and taking responsibility for outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Partner closely with Sales from opportunity identification to submission and award
- Contribute to pipeline reviews, forecasting and bid/no-bid decisions
- Support commercial positioning, pricing logic and risk assessment
- Ensure alignment between what is sold, what is bid and what is delivered
- Own bid strategy
- Lead bid strategy including win themes, solution shaping and commercial narrative
- Run bid kick-offs, strategy sessions and internal reviews
- Translate operational capability into clear, compelling value for clients
- Support tender interviews and presentations alongside senior stakeholders
- Deliver high-quality tenders
- Write and coordinate persuasive, score-focused tender responses
- Ensure full compliance with evaluation criteria and submission requirements
- Manage multiple bids concurrently without compromising quality
- Personally own final reviews and submissions
- Engage the market
- Identify and qualify new public sector opportunities
- Engage early with contracting authorities to shape approach and positioning
- Lead post-award feedback discussions and apply learning to future bids
- Continuously improve
- Track competitor behaviour and market trends
- Capture feedback to improve win rates and scoring consistency
- Build and maintain a strong, reusable bid library
